The PSI Picasso Group Gallery Shop
Andrew Shelton
My artwork used to really show the weight of my troubles — twisted, heavy brush strokes and dark, gloomy colors. During my years with the PSI Picasso Group, I worked on not letting my troubles control my art. I now have much better control over what I’m trying to express. I now know when I’ve reached the end of a piece and let it go. Now, I rarely overwork a painting or drawing. For the upcoming year I want to work on better use of light and drawings about every day life. I plan to work more in watercolors where I am better able to express my feelings. I plan to do that with acrylics, too. I will try to express themes I have tried before — thing about the people and places I see every day. On weekends, I show a few pieces at the Eastern Market. When people are interested in a piece, I like talking to them about it. I want to put what I see and feel there — into my art.
